Meet The Crew

My big cousin and one of my best friends!  I look up to Jovonn.  She is such a strong and beautiful wife, mother, and friend.  It is such an honor to have her by my side on my big day.

Nakeisha, aka “Nikki,” is my BFF from college and the mother of my God Child.  Nikki and I have been inseparable since our college years.  Her loyalty is unmatched.  There’s no question on how deep my love for Nikki runs.

My Bestie from Law School and fellow lawyer, Madelyne, has been one of my biggest support systems in New York over the past 13 years.  We are more like sisters than friends.  She is my right hand wo (man).   I’m so honored to have a sister-friend like her!

Kenya and I grew up down the street from one another in Chicago.  Her mother and my Aunt were close friends and went to high school together.  She is also my birthday twin.  After nearly 36 years of friendship, it was a no-brainer that she was going to be by my side on my big day!

 Bernade, aka “Bernie,” is one of the first friends I made when I moved to New York.  Bernie is sweet, fun, and is always down to have a good time.  We have shared so many laughs and tears over countless happy hours and brunches in NYC.  I can’t wait to have more toast with my girl Bernie on my big day… let’s just hope she doesn’t go to sleep first!

It was friendship at first sight when I met “Dre.” Since the first day we met, she has been such a positive inspiration in my life.  I can always count on Drea to lend an ear when I need to vent or invite me to Yoga, which I always respectfully decline. I just love her to pieces!

Although I’ve only known Joi for a couple of years, it feels like I’ve known her for 20+ years. Joi is honest, sincere, and supportive. I can always depend on Joi to “tell it like it is” and be down for a good margarita after work. She is such a great person and friend.
